THE CAST OF MACBETH
Gabriel Baker, Malcolm
Gabriel "George Washington Carver" Baker is a man of many interests. He enjoys Christmas lights, hanging Christmas lights on trees, taking down Christmas lights, and putting Chirstmas lights in a box for storage. But don't let his many interests intimidate you, he is also a simple man. He was born with three ears so his parents made sure to talk very quietly so as to not damage his hearing, but Gabriel turned out to be deaf. Yep, simply deaf. A simple man he was indeed. (Note: Gabriel Baker is no longer deaf, but he is partially blind.)
Sam Blake, Duncan
Sam once traveled back in time with his pet goldfish and taught Shakespeare how to love.
Greg Brandell, Doctor, Old Man, and Sergeant
Greg Brandell was perfectly cast for this production as he naturally has split personality disorder. He has participated in several productions here at the University and is currently a senior. The Doctor and the Messenger say that he's majoring in English through the School of Education. The Sargeant isn't so sure...
Will Carduner, Angus, Fleance, Apparition, and Young Siward
Lion-mettled, proud, and taking no care, Will Carduner could care less who chafes, who frets, or where his conspirers are. In short, he shall never be vanquished until Great Birnam wood comes against him to high Dunsinane hill. But that could never happen, right?
Jennifer Chiles, Hecate
Jennifer Chiles is a second year student majoring in Art History and History. She really enjoys modern art (no matter what anybody says). She also thoroughly enjoys Electric Six - to whom the following quote can be attributed: "Detroit and Electric Six.....side by side together shining the valiant light of liberalism unto a tragic, fearful and sterile empire."
Ben Columbus, Donalbain, Siward
When he sleeps, Ben dreams in Shakespearian English. Which is odd because he primarily communicates in Bantu.
Matt Devine, Banquo
After a three year stint in the Gulf War Matt returned home to find that his wife had married his midget gardener and moved to a suburb of Portland, Oregon. After years of depression and addiction Matt pulled himself out of rehab with the help of Charlie Sheen. He now is a custodial engineer at the local Brothel, yet still finds time to perform in elderly homes and YMCA's. Matt is a true American. Who wants to sex Mutumbo?
Matthew Hollerbach, Macduff
Matt Hollerbach has no direction in life but seems to enjoy himself anyway. He dedicates his performance to his sister Katie, who could not be here. He would also like to salute our George W. Bush, one of the truly talented actors of our time.
Andrew Klein, Lennox
Andrew's decision to change his name from Calvin was purely a personal decision, and he wishes to announce he has nothing politically or otherwise against the denimly inclined. He would also like to thank the Birnam Wood for forever being that which one may march towards.
Nishant Kumar, Ross
Have acted on stage in the Middle-East for 10 years. Lived on a Scandinavian Oil Tanker for three years. Am proficient at reading other people's destinies using renaissance tarot cards. Spent one week near the north pole last summer...have a certificate and iron ore to prove it too!
Marilia Kyprianides, Witch and Murderer
Marilia's last name is not important. What is important is that she is going to be important. This is Marilia's first show with Rude Mechanicals, though she has been in many RC Players productions over the past 3 years and even had the privilege of directing a work by Z.N. Lupetin. She moonlights as a Resident Advisor in East Quad and dreams of being "a bohemian frequenter of Parisian cafes." She thanks Emily and Zach for directing Macbeth, therefore allowing her to say "Something wicked this way comes!"...which is important.
Jacqueline Laurian, Lady MacBeth
Jackie always loves playing parts that are so similar to her actual personality. I mean...this really wasn't a stretch. As a junior BTA and Psychology major, this is her first time doing a Rude Mechanicals show and she's loved every minute of it. She would like to give a big thanks to the cast and crew, she's had such a wonderful time doing this production. She thanks all of her friends and Phis for all of their continuous support, and also to her amazing family who has always been there for her even when they are thousands of miles away. CONGRATS EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THE SHOW!!!
Russell Matthews, Macbeth
Russell grew up amongst the vast, swaying corn fields of central Illinois. Russell honed his acting skills in high school in many a school show. Leaving behind his beloved family and dogs, Russell joined the ranks at U of M this past September and spent a whole couple of weeks before joining two productions. You might have already seen him playing a part of the Spanish Inquisition in the RC Players' Evening of Scenes. He plans to join pirates on the high seas to pillage the many sailing ships for their wondrous treasures and the live out his life in luxury. That or pick a major. Good luck with that.
Jessica Maynard, Lady MacDuff
A girl wooed at an early age by the lights and sounds of theatre, Jessica makes her first Rude Mechanicals appearance as Lady Macduff. A California girl, who has recently learned the true meaning of cold, Jessica is delighted to be brutally murdered in the name of theatre!
Tara Mulder, Seyton, Girl, and Porter
This is Tara's first play with the Rude Mechanicals. Everything was going well until she broke the green bottle....yes she was drunk again. She would like to thank the University Bus System for making her late to rehearsal everyday and Greg for taking her home.
Julia M Scinto, Witch and Murderer
Born and bred in the U. S. of A., Julia is a proud, card-carrying member of the University of Michigan European Student Association, representing various countries which she has never visited.
Lindsay Strauss, Witch and Murderer
Being typecast as a seductive lamia from hell has truly been an honor for Lindsay, one she never dared hope for before. Lindsay believes it was her amazing talent for the dark arts or perhaps the fifty she slipped her directors that impressed them so much that they decided to cast her. She'd like to take this time to dedicate her performance to Lucifer, Lord of the Underworld, and to Jim Bean; without their love and support, she wouldn't be where she is today.

PRODUCTION STAFF
Emily Chaloner, Director
As a director, Emily enjoys making her cast members and audiences extremely uncomfortable through the use of blood and awkward sexual situations. She is also a fan of elbow sex and anything miniature. She has thoroughly enjoyed working on this production, and is happy to announce that she and Zach survived the process without ruining their relationship. She would especially like to thank her father for being so generous with his abundant collection of world music.
Al Duncan, Producer
Words, words, words....
Rachel Feldman, Assistant Stage Manager
Rachel Feldman has been stage managing for almost six years now. This is her third year at the University of Michigan. Her concentrations are English and RC Social Science, with a focus on Labor and Immigration. "I am very excited to work with the Rude Mechs, they are an extremely talented group talented and fun to work with!" Other Stage Management experiences at the university include Waiting for Godot and Raised in Captivity for Basement Arts and Rachel was an assistant stage manager for In Arabia We'd All Be Kings with University Productions.
Zach Lupetin, Director
Zachary is thrilled to be here. He was born in a small shack in Siberia and was discovered by Emily after he was already dead and covered in ice, clutching his Shakespeare's complete works. This is his Rude Mechanicals directing debut. An writer/actor/singer/songwriter/amateur filmmaker, Zach is thrilled to bring all his loves to Macbeth, and has had a great time directing it with the love of his life, Emily.
Kate Hutchens, Stage Manager and Set Designer
Third show with the Rudes
Have you ever crashed a Yak?
Candy cane splat funk.
A Beat-Dada-Haiku Biography. Kate would like to thank the cast for indulging her emails, Zach for inspiring all things madness, Emily for her sexy elbows, and Mark for being a trooper.
Kelley Maricle, Props Manager
Kelley is a freshman and is majoring in Classical Archaeology. This is her first show with the Rude Mechanicals, and she has had a wonderful time. She would like to thank her friends and family for putting up with long shopping trips, and for all of their help and support.
Lauren Michniacki, Producer
Lauren Michniacki is a junior in the College of Engineering pursing her degree in Mechanical Engineering. She has been involved with the Rude Mechs since her freshman year and this is her second year producing. After returning from six months in England this summer, she has yet to lose her usage of English slang; annoying all her friends with such phrases as 'well fit', 'shoddy', and continually calling her apartment a flat. Lauren's secret desire is to drop out of out school and become a freelance storm-chaser, that our sell her soul to Disney in order to become an Imagineer. Hey it could happen.
Mary Peterson, Tech Director
This is Mary's first Rude's show though in terms of building sets this is far from her first. She has gone from a giant piano in her first show BIG to a medieval castle in this show, while only losing a few layers of skin and many hours sleep. She'd like to give a shout out to her sister Sarah without whom she would never have gotten into drama.
ReBecca Sonday, Lighting Designer
ReBecca is a long-time advocate of both the Gunpowder Plot and Al Duncan. The two have historically been linked, though Becca still feels that Al is probably too soft and gentle of a creature to blow up the entire British Parliament. In her spare time, she climbs trees by the Frieze Building. She dedicates this show to the memory of Genghis Khan.
