Synopsis

Kiss of the Spider Woman is a dark, gritty musical about revolution, friendship, and the power of fantasy. This Tony Award-Winning show follows two cell mates in a Latin American prison: Valentin, a tough revolutionary undergoing torture and Molina, an unabashed homosexual serving eight years for deviant behavior. To pass the time and distract them from their horrible reality, Molina recounts the plots of movies he watched as a boy. All of these films starred the same beautiful actress, Aurora, and Molina loves every role she's ever played - except one. Aurora's part as the beautiful but deadly Spider Woman haunts him, and this dangerous woman soon starts to become a terrifyingly real presence in both men's everyday life. Ultimately, in this tale that blends the magical with the mundane, she will force both men to discover if heroism and love are possible in real life - or only in the movies.

Synopsis

In 1913, Leo Frank, a Brooklyn-born Jew living in Georgia, is put on trial for the murder of 13-year-old Mary Phagan, a factory worker under his employ. Already guilty in the eyes of everyone around him, a sensationalist publisher and a janitor's false testimony seal Leo's fate. His only defenders are a governor with a conscience, and, eventually, his assimilated Southern wife who finds the strength and love to become his greatest champion.
