Sometimes we'll use the Modern Languages building at the corner of East Washington and Thayer, or Dennison Hall, on Church Street just north of South University. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance of Angell Hall and the Modern Languages Building. The map below shows the locations of many places to eat. Red dots represent fast food, blue dots represent sit-down places, and green dots represent coffeehouses and breakfast places. ![]() If you're looking for a specific type of restaurant, feel free to ask any member of our tournament staff. The nearest public parking garages are the Maynard Street structure west of State Street at the Forest structure off South University for $1/hour. Sometimes street parking is available on Washington and Fletcher near the MLB. The Liberty Square parking garage (entrance on Washington between State St. and Division) is economical at $2 for the whole day, so long as you don't exit and re-enter the structure. There are a few souvenir shops close to the MLB. Steve and Barry's, Great Lakes Apparel, Michigan Book and Supply, and Moe Sport Shops are clustered at the corner of North University and State. Slightly further afield are the Michigan Union Bookstore at State and South University, and the M Den on South University just west of Church. With all the one way streets in downtown Ann Arbor, it's as easy to get lost on your way out as it is on your way in. So to return to the highway from Central Campus, follow these directions: From the Thayer Street structure going west: Turn left onto Thayer, then left onto E. Washington. At Division, turn right and go north a block to Huron. Turn left on Huron and follow it until it splits into a Y. Take the left branch of the Y (Jackson Rd.) and follow it until you reach I-94. From the Thayer Street structure going east: Turn left onto Thayer, then right onto E. Washington. When Washington ends at Fletcher, turn left and follow Fletcher until it ends at Huron. Turn right onto Huron. Huron will make a sharp curve to the right and turn into Washtenaw Avenue. Stay on Washtenaw until you reach U.S. 23. From the Forest Street structure: Turn left onto Forest, then right onto S. University. Turn right onto Washtenaw Avenue, and follow it to U.S. 23.
